In Warhammer Dark Omen there are five different kinds of items:

A sword is a weapon for cutting and stabbing with a straight double-edged blade. In Warhammer Dark Omen there are, apart from the usual swords which many regiments carry, five magical swords as well. These have got special attacking-abilities.
A shield is useful for defending yourself against low-distance-weapons and bullets of an attacker. In Warhammer Dark Omen there are, beside the usual shields which many regiments carry, four magical shields. These have got special defending-abilities.
A banner is a flag with an emblem, showing the lordship of a nobleman or the membership to his entourage. In Warhammer Dark Omen there are four magical banners. These are fulfilled with magic and have got special abilities.
A magical item helps its bearer (especially sorcerers) to concentrate and expand his powers. In Warhammer Dark Omen there are three magical items, which boost the powers of the magic-abled units.
A few items equip the regiments with additional powers, but they cannot be sorted to a special category. There are four ones in Warhammer Dark Omen.
